With its 70000 registered clients and 650 member restaurants, Yemeksepeti.com is one of the biggest e-commerce sites in Turkey. Among several awards of Yemeksepeti.com, there are Best B2C and Best Web Site awards given in 2004 Altın Örümcek Web Contest, where Microsoft is the main sponsor of the Altin Örümcek Web Contest Organisation.
The idea of creating an ordering platform where customers have access to accurate and up-to-date data first emerged in May 2000. Immediately the dotcom alikes and their business styles were evaluated. Webvan.com, realdelivery.com, food.com, waitersonwheels.com, waiter.com and kozmo.com were diagnosed, internet penetrations and target demographics were determined and surveys were conducted among our target markets to see if the market really needs this kind of service. At the end of all these analysis, yemeksepeti.com model is decided to be the best model under the unique characteristics of internet visitors and restaurants in Turkey.
It was August 2000 and they had the complete business plan at hand. They decided that they would develop our application on Microsoft Technologies. In order to act as quickly as possible they had to find a robust, scalable e-commerce application as a base for our whole application. As a start-up company with limited budget they had to find the optimum product with best price/performance ratio. Their search for several weeks ended as they found AceFlex® 4.0. Our detailed analysis of the program showed us that it had all the features and functionalities that they needed at that time, plus many more functions that they couldn't use at the time.
